Why can't i send or receive mms on my blackberry 8100?

So i recently got my blackberry 8100 (under At&t) since my blackjack broke and i was enjoying until i found out that i cant get any pictures or send any. What can i do to get that because i really dont have money for another phone thanks to the economy :(
