Reliability of a plymouth voyager 1997?

my daughter just lost her job and is living in houston. THe best thing for her to do is to move back home in orlando florida. SHe has a van and is needing some work...struts, shocks, cv boota and joints, ---suspension problems... an alighment and spare tire. The van has 175000 miles on it. After all of this work is done...$500 for suspension and brakes is it worth putting in the money or buying a 1000 dollars into the van? Florida has just raised the cost of reginsering and tagging motor vechicles almost double to triple what the price used to be.. Im guessing another 500$ Any suggestions
